FAQs
How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
After submitting a tattoo request form Nomad Ink will get in contact with you within the next 24 hours through via email and/or text with all pre appointment information! Here are a few that are not included in that pre appointment information but are must!
SHOWER!
Hydrate your skin with lotion for a week prior to your tattoo appointment, this will help your tattoo artist out a ton when tattooing!
DO NOT forget your ID when arriving to your appointment without an ID will result in rescheduling!
HYDRATE and EAT!! (This is IMPORTANT!)
Nomad Ink knows that getting a tattoo is a spontaneous and exciting moment for you, all of your 5 friends and your family but…. Nomad Ink only states that 1-2 people are permitted to be with you during your session. Nomad Ink is a Private Studio, too many people create issues(Overcrowded space is unacceptable!) Anyone extra will be asked to wait in the waiting area until after your session!
What should I NOT do before my appointment?
The Don'ts of Getting a Tattoo:
Alcohol-having alcohol in your system increases you chances of bleeding! No one wants that!(tattoos will start to reject ink in session if so!)
Lotions/Spray tans- AVOID using anything of this sort 24 hour prior to your appointment! The area of the tattoo should be free of any, this will help the artist make the tattoo session go smoothly!
Sunburn- Avoid sun exposure before and after your tattoo sessions to maintain the best healing outcome! Sunburn CANNOT be tattooed over and Nomad Ink would reschedule your tattoo session.
What about numbing spray?
Nomad Ink DOES NOT provide any sort of lidocaine cream or numbing spray, Nomad Ink believes if you really want that tattoo to be apart of you, you’ll take whatever it takes to get that tattoo done!
If you truly believe in the lidocaine cream or numbing spray please apply an hour prior to a small or medium tattoo appointments and however many hours your tattoo artist says your session will take for larger tattoos!
Do you tattoo anyone under the age of 18 years old?
At the time Nomad Ink DOES NOT tattoo anyone under the age of 18 years old! Please provide an ID when arriving to your tattoo session without one will result to rescheduling!
Can my old tattoo be fixed?
Nomad Ink believes that most tattoos can be fixed or covered up! Due to some circumstances your tattoo may not have a possible way to fix or cover up(this does happen sometimes unfortunately) To find out if your tattoo is possible to fix or cover up, please fill out a request form located on the home page or form section of the website!
What happens if I’m late to my appointment OR I don’t show up?
When it comes to being late or canceling, Nomad Ink understands things happen. If you are running late or need to cancel your appointment then you will need to contact the artist AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Depending on the length of the appointment and how many other sessions there are for your artist that day, Nomad Ink may or may not be able to fit your tattoo in that same day! You must understand that every minute you’re running late is how far your artist will have to run into their next appointment!
To fail to do so, Nomad Ink will no longer accept your request forms and you will no longer be able to book an appointment with Nomad Ink!
Nomad Ink understands that things can pop up last minute, PLEASE just get in contact with us as soon as possible! (NOTE: That all deposits are final and there are no REFUNDS)
Am I supposed to tip my tattoo artist?!
Why not🤷🏼♀️Tattooing is a service provided to you by someone! It is not required that you tip your artist but it is greatly appreciated when you do, especially when you love the work that was put on your body and your artist charges less than MOST shops! You should strive to tip your tattoo artist 10-20% just as you would your waiter or hair stylist!
All tattoo artist set their own rates but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are making 100% profit off of what they charge you. Tattoo artist only make a portion of what they charge, plus they have to cover the cost of all the material that was used to make the beautiful art on you! A loyal client and high tipper, is more than likely to get charged on the lower end! So why not tip?
